“Trust in Allah”: Corner Stone of Islam
December 16, 2024
A Poem By Tauqeer Zaidi
And trust in Allah, the Almighty’s decree,
Enough is Allah, as a disposer of destiny.
In Surah Al-Ahzab, His words do proclaim,
A humble servant, I, in awe, do proclaim His name.
The One who spoke these words, I am but a lowly part,
A creation of His, with a humble heart.
My words are insufficient to praise His glory’s theme,
I am but a servant, with a heart that beats in dream.
My tongue is weak, my voice is faint and low,
To sing His praises, as they ought to grow.
His majestic essence, I can only adore,
And pray for mercy, forevermore.
O Allah, have mercy on me, and forgive my sins,
Through Your beloved Prophet, I beseech Your aid within.
Forgive my transgressions, and be my guide,
And lead me to the path, where love and mercy reside.
O Unique and Only One, protect the oppressed and wronged,
Through the martyrdom of Husain, the thirsty one, so strong.
In Karbala’s plains, he was slain, with tears and pain,
And I invoke his memory, to ease my heart’s refrain.
O Allah, hear my plea, and grant me Your forgiveness true,
Through the intercession of Husain, my heart belongs to You.
I pray for mercy, and for love to shine,
And guide me on the path, that’s forever divine.
